Steve Cohen in a steel cage, loser-leave-town grudge match

Has anybody been watching Steve Cohen's race against challenger Nikki Tinker? That is one nasty, bitter slugfest. Tinker made Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World" last night for her antisemitic TV spot.
I didn’t think it was possible to be more repellent than Ford, but Aunt Nikki is the willing overseer on Pinnacle Airlines corporate plantation as Vice President for Labor Relations and General Counsel. Aunt Nikki is representative of the lowest form of human life and is the worst kind of counterfeit Negress imaginable. As an employment lawyer, she specializes in destroying employee rights to collectively bargain and be free from workplace racial discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Her campaign report is full of two kinds of people, acquaintances from her home state of Alabama and her motley collection of crooked contacts in the business world. The CEO of Pinnacle Airlines, Phil Trenary, her boss and corporate puppet master, is represented, as are Republican corporate employment lawyers from her former law firm, John and Ruth Alley. Finally, there is a member of Pinnacle’s Board of Directors, GOP rainmaker and real estate magnate James McGehee and his kith and kin.

Having read the whole of the articles to which you linked, I was astounded by the follow-on rant (just below where you cut and pasted), including all the invective against Harold Ford, Jr as part of the tirade. "Harold Whore, Jr."? "Trojan Horse"? "Overseer"? While crediting the "right wing" "white racists" with such an elaborate conspiracy to infiltrate the 9th District was more than a bit absurd, the whole was very entertaining reading. I mean, how do you reconcile such a clumsy and offensive ad with a right wing capable of such amazing organizational and planning skills as would be required to infiltrate this election primary? That ad woudn't have progressed beyond the storyboard stage of an even modestly competent marketing department while such a cunning "Trojan Horse" campaign would have won an "Addie" on concept alone.
Still, it was a tirade that would have done Libertarian (big L) party members proud. I thought they were the only ones who ate their own young with so much relish for any perceived deviation from the holy doctrine. Rebuking (to use a religious term) this specific candidate would seem warranted given the ad she put out, but the invective and needless follow-on axe grinding rant - reproduced in full in DailyKos no less - against Harold Ford, Jr. crosses over into the magical land of Libertarian (big L) Loony Tunes self-destruction. Just... wow.
Democratic Presidential Nominee Senator Barack Obama has just issued the following statement regarding the negative campaign ads issued by Nikki Tinker in her 9th District Congressional campaign against Congressman Steve Cohen:
“These incendiary and personal attacks have no place in our politics, and will do nothing to help the good people of Tennessee. It’s time to turn the page on a politics driven by negativity and division so that we can come together to lift up our communities and our country,” said Barack Obama.

There'll be lots of fallout from this one.
S. Tubbs Jones was one of HRC's most in-your-face supporters. Now, she's going ovaries-to-the-wall in support of Tinker. I suspect by Friday, she'll be O-fer for '08. This woman's annoying as heck.
Better late than never, Harold Ford Jr. on the Tinker ads:
“Whenever race, religion or gender is invoked in a political contest, it generally means the candidate has run out of legitimate arguments for why he/she should be elected. Communities and nations are always made weaker when political figures try to divide us for political advantage. It is my strong hope that lessons will be learned.”
The Memphis Ford family political machine needs rooted out and replaced with better Dems.
