Sources tell us that Knoxville News Sentinel reporter Randy Kenner has been offered a PR position in Knoxville Mayor Bill Haslam's office. Apparently he would replace Amy Nolan, a former News Sentinel business editor who is going back to the News Sentinel as editor of their new Business Journal.

They should get rid of the following people now; Dave Hill, Bill Lyons, IV Owen. The city deserves much better qualified people than a planner,a sociology teacher and an FBI agent. Of course if they were fired they might just go work for the county and then where are we.
Lyons was a professor of Political Science, I believe. As for Owen, being a former FBI agent seems like a pretty good qualification and by most accounts it seems like he's doing a pretty good job, but maybe I haven't been paying attention. Don't know about Hill.
Bill Lyons is indeed a political science professor (he's on leave from UT).
Dave Hill has done a fantastic job sheparding the south waterfront effort (although I was less happy with how he handled the stormwater thing awhile back).
I can think of a bunch of folks at the City who'd be WAY ahead of these two on my little list.
is to be announced this afternoon by the administration.
